my boyfriend is moving away to another country very soon. we both agree that we don't want to do long distance..we love each other very much so we decided that the best thing to do now is to stay friends..we want to be a part of each other's lives. i have never been able to stay friends with my exes..maybe because i was immature then...but i am wondering now, is it healthy to stay friends with your exes? is really possible to be friends? we really want to stay in each other's lives..i just don't know what i'm getting myself into. help??

If there are no ill feelings between you two, and you both still love each other then it is possible to keep a friendship, although it will be hard because if you stay in contact frequently it may be hard for either of you to move on to find a new girlfriend.And then when either of you does find someone new, the contact between you two may change drastically because a current gf may feel threatened by your relationship with him.
I've had no problems staying friends with exes that realized we needed to be apart for a reason, the main problem is keeping in contact. I had the same situation where I was dating a girl and left for college, we stayed friends but eventually fell out of touch due to never seeing each other. I would definitely say there is no problem saying friends with exes.
This doesnt really sound like a bad breakup... so staying friends might not be a problem this time. Trust me its not gunna be easy tho cuz theres always gunna b the want to be more than friends. If you have feelings for him still, even the smallest feelings don't even bother staying friends. You will affect your future relationships and it might put you in very bad situations.
just make sure he doesn't bring up other girls and you don't bring up other guys. that helps me
